An Insider’s View – A Rare Experience

For a privileged few, the Buddhist Heritage Project offers a unique programme of specific guided programs through the important Buddhist sites of Luang Prabang. You will be shown the inner charm of Luang Prabang and its Buddhist heritage, visiting sites and hallowed places not generally seen by most tourists, all accompanied by one of the Principals of the Buddhist Heritage Project.

Some of the likely places to visit include the Buddhist Archives; the Buddhist Academy and Meditation site; visits to several Monasteries in the historic part of Luang Prabang with insight into their history, decoration and restoration; and visits to several Monasteries across the Mekong River from the town. Independent meditation on Temple grounds is encouraged, although at the moment guided meditation sessions are unavailable.

While we are not a travel agency, we can assist with general advice over air travel, hotel accommodations and scheduling. The range of accommodation options in Luang Prabang is extensive, and there are numerous excellent restaurants.

Groups must necessarily be small (up to a maximum of four couples) in order to permit the personal attention we bring to these glimpses.

The cost (in the form of a donation to the Buddhist Heritage Project) and precise itineraries of our offerings vary according to the individual interests of our guests.

If you would like more detailed information on this rare opportunity or wish to discuss a specific itinerary, please contact Brian Lingham, the Project Coordinator, by email to coordinator@buddhist-heritage.org.
