The Buddhist Heritage Project’s activities are carried out under the guidance and patronage of the revered abbot of Vat Pak Khan and Vat Xiang Thong, Pha One Keo Sitthivong / Kitthipattho who is Head of the Lao Buddhist Fellowship of the Province of Luang Prabang (The Buddhist Sangha). The project is sustained by a group of Buddhist monks, nuns and laypeople working in close collaboration with artist and photographer Hans Georg Berger and Brian Lingham, an Australian national with years’ of experience in administrative and project management in Luang Prabang.
Our efforts are supported by Somphong Khammichit, Construction Supervisor; Vatthana Siamkha, Assistant Project Coordinator and Sounet Thammalath; a small but talented staff of Lao nationals whose skills we constantly seek to enhance and who will take the Project forward into the next decades.
We maintain several active working locations; principally at the Buddhist Archives of Luang Prabang (an important international seat of research) in Vat Suvannakhili, and at the project’s administrative offices and workshop near the confluence of the Mekong and Khan rivers.
Since our foundation in 2006, close collaboration with a number of international Foundations, Academic and Research institutions and private supporters insures the continuity of our works and financial stability of our Project.
